Before you book
The questions people actually ask.
Do I have to do my whole body?
No — that's the whole point of this page. Plenty of people fix just one area, most often the arms or inner thighs, and never do more. You're free to start with the single thing that bothers you, live with the result, and add a second area later only if you ever want to. We won't push you toward a full-body plan.
Will diet and exercise ever fix loose arm or thigh skin?
Honestly, no — not once skin has stretched past its elastic limit. Triceps work builds the muscle underneath but doesn't remove excess skin, and no cream retracts it. Excess skin comes off by removing it, surgically. That's not a discipline failure; it's biology.
How much does a one-area lift cost?
Instead of a lump-sum total, AXIS finances a single area as one small monthly number — from about $99/month* (about $23/week), on a soft check with no impact to your credit. Because it's a smaller procedure, it's also the easiest kind of plan to qualify for. Your exact plan and monthly figure are set at your free consult. Demo figures until your clinic's real terms are confirmed.
How bad is the scar, really?
Real, and permanent — that's the honest trade for the skin coming off. An arm lift leaves a scar along the inner upper arm (elbow toward the underarm); a thigh lift leaves one along the inner thigh from the groin crease down. We place them where they're least visible and they fade over time, but they don't disappear. For the right candidate it's worth it — and we'd rather you know before, not after.
What's recovery like for one area?
Moderate — lighter than a full-body procedure, but still real surgery. Expect a compression garment, limited use of that arm or leg, and taking it easy for a couple of weeks; many people are back to desk work within about two weeks. Timelines are typical ranges, individual, never guaranteed.
Can I add a second area later?
Absolutely. Many people start with the arms or thighs and come back a year or more later for a second area, at their own pace — or never do. A one-area fix is a first step you're free to build on, not a commitment to more. Your surgeon can also plan two areas together if that's what you want.
I lost the weight on a GLP-1 — does that change anything?
Only in timing. We treat the loose skin the loss left behind — we don't prescribe or manage weight-loss medication, and we make no claims about those drugs. What matters for surgery is that your weight is stable (generally 6+ months at goal), so your result is planned on your true, settled shape.
What if my weight isn't stable yet?
Then the honest answer may be "wait." The best, longest-lasting results come once you've been at a stable weight for about six months. If you're still losing or only recently at goal, your surgeon would rather you stabilize first — and we'll be here when the timing is right.
Could any of this be covered by insurance?
Arm and thigh lifts are cosmetic, so no — they're cash. The one exception is a hanging apron of belly skin causing recurring rashes, infections or mobility limits: removing it (a panniculectomy) may be covered when medically necessary. Coverage depends on your plan and documented criteria — we verify your benefits and handle the paperwork, but never promise approval. The 60-second check flags it and routes you to that separate path.
Does checking financing affect my credit?
No. Pre-qualification uses a soft check with no impact to your credit score, and you'll see an estimate before you ever book. Financing is subject to lender terms and we never imply guaranteed approval — it's a small monthly plan, not an "apply now, get approved" pitch.
