Your questions, honestly.
Do I have to fix my whole body, or can I just do one area?
Just one area is completely valid — and it's the most common way to start. Plenty of people who've lost major weight only want the arms, or only the inner thighs, handled. You're never signed up for a full-body plan; you choose the single area that's been holding you back, and nothing else is on the table unless you want it.
Which areas can be done on their own?
The arms (an arm lift, or brachioplasty) and the inner thighs (a thigh lift, or thighplasty) are the two most common stand-alone areas after weight loss. Each is a single, targeted excisional procedure. If your main issue is a hanging abdominal apron with rashes or infections, that's a different, possibly-covered path (a panniculectomy) we'll point you to.
How bad is the scar for an arm or thigh lift?
Real and permanent — that's the honest deal. An arm-lift scar runs along the inner arm; an inner-thigh scar runs along the inner thigh or the groin crease. Because a one-area lift removes less skin than a full body lift, the scar is more contained, and it's placed in the natural line. It softens and fades over the first year with care, but it does not disappear. If you need a scar-free result, this isn't the right procedure, and we'll tell you so.
What does recovery look like for one area?
For a single area like the arms or inner thighs, plan on about 1–2 weeks off, with a garment and limits on lifting, reaching, walking distance or sitting for several weeks after — depending on the area. These are typical ranges, not guarantees. It's real surgery with a real recovery; your surgeon gives you the honest timeline for your case, never a "weekend" story.
Can't I fix loose arm or thigh skin with more exercise?
Honestly, no. Once skin has stretched past its elastic limit — which is common after major GLP-1 or bariatric weight loss — it can't retract on its own, and no cream, supplement or targeted workout brings it back. Toning the muscle underneath doesn't change the loose surface over it. Removing the excess is what changes it, and that's a targeted lift.
I lost the weight on Ozempic / Wegovy — does that matter?
Only as context. We name GLP-1 medications only because they're a common reason skin is left behind — we don't prescribe them and make no claims about them. What matters for surgery is that your weight is stable (ideally ~6 months at goal), so your result is planned on your true shape.
How much does a one-area lift cost?
We lead with the monthly number, not a sticker, because it's paid over time. A single area starts from about $129/month* — roughly $30 a week — on a soft check that doesn't affect your credit. Because one area is a small ticket, the plan is easier to approve than a full transformation. Your exact number is set with a board-certified surgeon at your free consultation.
What if I want to do more later?
That's completely up to you. Many patients fix one area and never need more; some come back for a second area down the line. If you ever want a fuller, staged plan, we can map it — on your terms, never pushed. Starting with one area doesn't lock you into anything.
What if part of my skin causes rashes or infections?
Then part of your case may be medical rather than cosmetic. When a hanging apron of skin over the lower abdomen causes documented rashes, infections or mobility problems, a panniculectomy may be covered by insurance when medically necessary. We verify your benefits and handle the paperwork on our separate coverage page. No coverage is ever promised — it depends on your plan and documented criteria.
What if I'm not ready yet?
Then we'll tell you to wait — plainly. If you're still losing, under six months at your goal, or not medically ready, the best move is to stabilize first, even for one area. A good surgeon would rather you get the best result later than a compromised one now. Your free consult will map the right time, and we'll be here.
