Considered Questions
The questions people actually ask.
Can I really just do one area?
Yes. If it’s only your arms, or only your inner thighs, that single area can be addressed on its own — you don’t have to commit to a full-body plan. Most people who come for one area do exactly that and stop there. If you ever decide to address another area later, it simply becomes the first step of a bigger plan — but there’s no obligation to.
Can diet or exercise fix loose skin on my arms or thighs?
Once skin has been stretched past its elastic limit by major weight loss, no amount of diet, exercise, protein, water or time will retract it. Muscle tone improves with training; loose, non-retracting skin does not. Excisional surgery — an arm lift or thigh lift — is the only mechanism that removes it. This is a general biological reality, not a reflection of your effort.
How bad is the scar, honestly?
Real and permanent. An arm lift leaves a scar that runs along the inner arm; a thigh lift, a scar along the inner thigh. Both are placed to sit where clothing hides them, and they fade and flatten over many months, but they do not disappear. The scar is the honest trade for the loose skin coming off — and for the right candidate, worth it.
How much recovery are we really talking about?
A single-area arm or thigh lift is a moderate recovery — the first week or two the most restricted, with a gradual return over several weeks. It’s far lighter than a lower or circumferential body lift, but it’s still real surgery under anaesthesia, not a single visit or a “lunchtime” fix. Timelines are typical ranges, individual to you, never guaranteed.
What does a one-area procedure cost?
Rather than a single large sticker, a single-area plan carries one small monthly line — from about $99/month, depending on the area — with a soft-check financing option that doesn’t touch your credit. A single area is a smaller ticket than a full-body plan, which is exactly why it’s the easiest place to start. Your exact figure is prepared privately at consultation, and an arm or thigh lift is cosmetic, so it isn’t insurance-covered.
I lost the weight on a GLP-1 medication — does that change anything?
Only the timing. This page is about the skin your weight loss left behind, not the medication itself — we make no claims about any GLP-1 drug and don’t prescribe or sell weight loss. What matters for surgery is that your weight is settled: if you’re still losing, it’s usually best to reach a stable weight for about six months first, so the result holds.
What if my loose skin causes rashes or infections?
Then a different, medical path may apply. When excess skin causes documented rashes, infections, hygiene difficulty or mobility limits, its removal can be medically necessary and may be covered by insurance — that depends entirely on your plan and its criteria and is never guaranteed. That’s a separate path from this cash one-area page; just tell us at your consultation and we’ll check honestly and handle the paperwork.
Will I be pushed into doing my whole body?
No. If one area is what you want, one area is what’s planned — Dr. Marchand would rather finish one thing beautifully than sell you five. A fuller plan only ever exists if you choose to add areas later, on your own timeline.
Will the result last?
An arm or thigh lift is long-lasting — the excess skin is gone for good. That said, significant future weight change or natural ageing can still affect your body over time, so a stable weight helps the result hold. Dr. Marchand will be honest about what to expect for your case.
How do I know if I’m even a candidate?
The short 60-second check gives a considered first read on your one area, your timing and your path. It isn’t a diagnosis — a board-certified surgeon confirms candidacy at your complimentary consultation, for patients 18 and over.
